Create your own experience - your kitchen or mine
Design a private, hands-on culinary experience tailored to your group, hosted either in your own kitchen or at Chef J’s. Gather 6–10 friends or family members and explore global flavors through thoughtful cooking, shared learning, and meaningful connection.
Each experience includes two hours of guided, hands-on cooking, followed by one hour to enjoy the meal together in a relaxed, elegant setting. This time at the table is a cherished part of the experience—an opportunity to slow down, savor the meal you’ve created, and enjoy easy conversation in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
Classes are customized around cuisine, technique, and intention—whether you’re drawn to comforting American classics, vibrant Mexican flavors, or the herb-forward traditions of French, Italian, and Mediterranean cooking. For those seeking something further afield, experiences may also explore the layered spices of Indian cuisine, the aromatics of Thai cooking, or the bold, soulful flavors of North African, Caribbean, Cajun, or Argentinian-inspired dishes.

The Art of Nourishing Flavor
A hands-on class exploring herbs, aromatics, and Chef J’s signature secret sauce—showing how one flavorful base can become many nourishing meals. In The Art of Nourishing Flavor, we explore how simple ingredients—onion, garlic, bell peppers, and herbs—become the foundation for vibrant, nourishing meals. This hands-on class highlights how flavor and nourishment work together through mindful preparation and traditional culinary techniques. During class, we will prepare a versatile base sauce and transform it using fresh herbs such as cilantro, thyme, oregano, rosemary, and basil, along with classic Provençal dried herbs. You’ll also practice essential skills including dicing, julienne, blanching, and monder (peeling tomatoes), building confidence to adapt flavors and techniques to your own cooking style and cultural traditions.
Handmade Pasta: A Flour-Forward Experience
Learn the art of fresh pasta making using three thoughtfully chosen flours—00, organic unbleached flour, and semolina. In this hands-on class, you’ll explore how flour selection influences texture, structure, and flavor while crafting pasta with intention and care. Class size is limited to 10 participants to ensure a relaxed, guided experience. Minimum 6.
Exploring Tuscany Cuisine
Explore the essence of Tuscany (Toscana) cuisine renowned for its simplicity, quality and use of the freshest local ingredients. This culinary tradition is known as “cucina povera” which means poor cooking, emphasizes making the most of what is available locally and seasonal. Although the food is simple, it is very rich in flavor and hearty. Tuscany is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and home to famous historical figures like Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo. We will prepare this 4-course exquisite menu together, paired with Italian wines in a comfortable setting so you can relax, learn, and enjoy this culinary journey.
