A hands-on class exploring herbs, aromatics, and Chef J’s signature secret sauce—showing how one flavorful base can become many nourishing meals. In The Art of Nourishing Flavor, we explore how simple ingredients—onion, garlic, bell peppers, and herbs—become the foundation for vibrant, nourishing meals. This hands-on class highlights how flavor and nourishment work together through mindful preparation and traditional culinary techniques. During class, we will prepare a versatile base sauce and transform it using fresh herbs such as cilantro, thyme, oregano, rosemary, and basil, along with classic Provençal dried herbs. You’ll also practice essential skills including dicing, julienne, blanching, and monder (peeling tomatoes), building confidence to adapt flavors and techniques to your own cooking style and cultural traditions.
